Job description:

• Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is often required. Equivalent work experience or additional certifications may also be considered.
• Cloud Platforms: Strong knowledge and experience with one or more cloud platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Familiarity with the core services and features of the chosen cloud platform is important.
• Cloud Services: Proficiency in configuring, deploying, and managing various cloud services offered by the chosen cloud platform. This may include services like virtual machines (VMs), containers (e.g., Docker), serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda), databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database), networking, storage, and security services.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and technologies, such as AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, or Terraform. Knowledge of writing and maintaining infrastructure code using declarative or imperative programming languages is beneficial.
• Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Ruby. Cloud Engineers should be able to write scripts to automate repetitive tasks, manage infrastructure, and deploy resources in a programmatic and efficient manner.
• Networking: Understanding of networking concepts and experience in configuring and managing virtual networks, subnets, firewalls, load balancers, and other network-related components in the cloud environment.
• Security and Compliance: Knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience in implementing security controls, monitoring, and managing compliance in the cloud environment. Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and security services offered by the cloud platform is important.
• DevOps Practices: Understanding of DevOps principles and experience in implementing DevOps practices in a cloud environment. This includes Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), version control systems (e.g., Git), and collaboration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab).
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues in a cloud environment. Cloud Engineers should be able to analyze logs, monitor performance, and identify root causes of issues related to cloud services, applications, or infrastructure.
• Collaboration and Communication: Effective collaboration and communication skills are crucial for working with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security teams. Cloud Engineers should be able to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and contribute to project discussions.
• Certifications: Industry certifications specific to the chosen cloud platform, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified Administrator, or Google Cloud Certified Professional, are highly regarded and demonstrate expertise in cloud technologies.
