Site Reliability Engineer - Digital Workforce

Responsibilities

• As a SRE, your primary responsibility is to collaborate with the client teams to ascertain the health and status metrics for their services.
• You will also be required to recommend best practices for instrumentation, measurement, and monitoring.
• Independently work on conducting in-depth reliability tests.
• Closely collaborate with the client SRE team and product engineering teams to deliver changes/updates to the 24x7-critical production systems regularly.
• Adept in Design, documentation, and building systems. Hands- on approach to automation to eliminate operations problems.
• Optimizing the security and performance of the infrastructure running on Google Cloud Platform.
• Help iterate on the incident response, deployment, and change review processes.
• You will be required to be available for an on-call rotation for the production systems alongside the software developers.

• Design – Operational knowledge on how to design and prepare a system for production, including deployment, scaling, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Analysis – Adept in troubleshooting, decomposing, and debugging complex problems.

• Adaptable – Skilled in managing, re-prioritizing, and executing tasks on the fly as per the need.

Competencies

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Dev Ops / SRE role.
• AWS/GCP/Azure certified professional with 3+ years working experience
• Proficient working with Linux and have useful knowledge of its underlying core systems (system, memory management, cron, etc.)
• Firsthand working knowledge of cloud technologies like Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Microsoft Azure in a production environment.
• Have knowledge of the operational aspects of software systems such as monitoring, centralized logging, building dashboards, and alerting
• Experienced with administering and troubleshooting webservers (NGINX, HAProxy, etc)
• Comfortable working with Git and worked with containerization technologies like Docker
• Aware of Infrastructure as code like Terraform
• Experienced with CI/CD pipelines like CircleCI and accustomed to working with microservices and managing an enormous amount of data
• Capability with Kubernetes, Google Kubernetes Engine, or similar container orchestration technologies
• Experience with search technologies such as Apache Solr, Apache Lucene, ElasticSearch or Endeca is desirable.

Desirable Attributes

• Previously worked on a team using Agile-based development practices.
• Experience with large scale distributed production systems in the cloud and points like load balancing and disaster recovery.
• Operated in a fast paced, high volume start-up environment
