BT Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic IT team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining our IT delivery pipeline, automating the infrastructure, and ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our systems.  The candidate should be familiar with various software development methodologies and have experience with modern DevOps tools and technologies. This role requires a self-motivated professional that consistently brings a high level of dedication to Workday, customers, and workmates.

• Design, build, and maintain our IT delivery pipeline using modern DevOps tools and technologies.
• Automate the provisioning, deployment, and monitoring of our infrastructure.
• Design and build CI/CD framework  and DevOps processes and best practices.  
• Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of our systems.
• Collaborate with cross functional product teams to understand the infrastructure requirements and provide automated solutions.    
• Work with the operations team to identify and resolve production issues.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting solutions to provide visibility and insight into the health and performance of systems.
• Continuously improve the infrastructure and processes through automation and innovation.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps tools, technologies and trends and apply them as appropriate to improve our systems and processes.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the IT team.

About You:

Basic Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology  or a related field
• 7+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with experience designing and implementing infrastructure automation solutions.
• 5+ years of designing and driving the implementation of hybrid cloud-native solutions. 
• Strong background in software development, infrastructure automation, and systems automation.
• Expert level skill in automation tools like Terraform, CloudFormation etc.
• Deep knowledge on Jenkins CI/CD continuous integration and for End-to-End automation for all build and deployments.  
• Expertise on Git, GitHub, Bit Bucket, Maven, Jenkins,  Ansible 
• Development experience in  Ansible playbooks, for different scenarios to build and manage infrastructure. 
• Good working knowledge on AWS cloud platform and associated services.
• Hands on experience on Dockerized application and micro services.
• Strong programming skills using languages such as Powershell, Python, Java.
• Experience in integrating APIs and developing customized APIs.  
• Understanding of Linux/Unix/Windows system administration.
• Experience developing applications using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Strong understanding of software project release automation.
• Experience with MML tools such as CloudWatch, NewRelic, ServiceNow & Splunk.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies and principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 

Other Qualifications:

• Good networking knowledge and AWS services
• Extensive problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting skills
• Excellent verbal communications and written documentation skills are required
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment is a must
• Multicloud (Azure & GCP ) experience & Technology Certifications are plus
