Job Description
Responsibilities:
Test Strategy and Planning:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and develop comprehensive test strategies and plans for cloud infrastructure automation projects.
- Analyze project requirements and design specifications to create effective and efficient testing approaches.
Test Automation:
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts, frameworks, and tools to validate cloud infrastructure automation workflows, configurations, and deployments.
- Integrate automated tests into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient and reliable testing.
Functional and Non-Functional Testing:
- Execute end-to-end functional testing to ensure the correctness of infrastructure provisioning, orchestration, scaling, and management processes.
- Conduct non-functional testing, including performance, scalability, and reliability testing, to ensure optimal system behavior under various conditions.
Regression Testing:
- Conduct regular regression testing to identify and prevent regressions in existing cloud infrastructure automation processes.
- Maintain a robust regression test suite to validate system functionality continuously.
Issue Identification and Reporting:
- Investigate, identify, and report defects, inconsistencies, and issues in the cloud infrastructure automation workflows and configurations.
- Collaborate with development teams to provide detailed bug reports and support troubleshooting efforts.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of test cases, procedures, and results.
- Document best practices and testing standards for cloud infrastructure automation QA processes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to cloud infrastructure, automation, and quality assurance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA function.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in quality assurance and testing of cloud-based infrastructure automation projects.
- Strong proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, xUnit, TestNG, etc.).
- Familiarity with one of cloud platforms such as Azure and their respective automation and orchestration tools like Terraform
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, Typescript, etc.) for test automation and infrastructure management.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI, GitLab CI/CD) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Certifications related to cloud platforms and quality assurance are a plus.
