Job Description
The Environment & Release Manager will be responsible for the Release management of the Test Environment landscapes such as SIT, UAT, OAT, FOF, and NFT used by Corporate clusters and the responsibilities include setting up of Release calendars, facilitating deployments, troubleshooting environment issues and stakeholder management etc.
The role also needs a deep understanding of Unix systems along with familiarity and hands-on on with cloud technologies like AWS and Openshift. The role will be working closely for the Lead Environment Release Manager and Tech lead.
What will you be doing?
• Carry out releases /deployments in pre-production environments with self-service deployments and by facilitating deployments from external teams on multi-platform systems.
• Proactively check for environment issues to ensure 100% environment availability and fix all environment issues that are reported, which may entail involving infra/GTIS support.
• Maintaining a record of actual deployments and other knowledge contents and providing the stats for weekly KPIs that are consistent and adhering to EaaS standards.
• Ensure tech lead and/or Release Lead and users are notified about system breakdowns and advance Environment outages.
• Preserve and enhance the knowledge base of release management activities.
• A suitable candidate for this role should have strong experience in Environment Release Management and good hands-on experience in Release management and Change management processes and tools. Should also have a good understanding of common infrastructure components and how they fit together and interact. Coupled with this, the candidate should come across as calm, intelligent, and articulate with a strong telephone manner. They should be able to demonstrate examples of innovation and enhancement in their assignments.
What we’re looking for:
• Degree in computer science or any equivalent engineering discipline.
• Experience in Application or Technical Support.
• Good Knowledge of Release, Deployment, and Change management process (ITIL).
• Good Knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Windows systems.
