XML Specialist

About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented XML Specialist with strong expertise in schema design, validation, and transformation to support our digital publishing workflows. This role is ideal for someone passionate about structured content, metadata, and solving complex publishing challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work hands-on with XML, DTDs, and XSD to design and validate schemas.
• Develop mapping specifications between disparate schemas (e.g., JATS, BITS, proprietary publisher DTDs) using XPath and XSLT.
• Implement advanced validation rules with Schematron beyond structural constraints.
• Support end-to-end digital publishing workflows, ensuring metadata accuracy and compliance.
• Utilize XML IDEs (Oxygen XML Editor, Altova XMLSpy) and apply macros/regex for data cleaning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve XML validation errors and transformation issues.

Qualifications:

• 23 years of professional experience in XML technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with digital publishing standards and workflows.
• Hands-on experience with XPath, XSLT, and Schematron.
