Workday Integration Technical Expert & Lead

Role and Responsibilities –

1. Hands-on Workday Integration Development

  • Design, develop, and test complex Workday integrations between internal systems and external vendors.

  • Translate business and functional requirements into technical integration specifications.

  • Perform data mapping, transformation, and validation activities.

  • Develop and maintain inbound/outbound integrations leveraging Workday’s Integration Framework.

  • Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring mechanisms for all integrations.

2. Technical Leadership -

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Workday integrations using tools such as: Core Connectors, PECI,Workday Studio, EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs), Workday Extend (if applicable)

  • Define integration architecture and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

  • Review code, provide technical mentorship, and enforce quality assurance

  • Ensure integrations comply with data security, privacy, and audit requirements

  • Establish and enforce integration standards, naming conventions, and deployment practices

3. Project Delivery & Coordination

  • Serve as the technical lead in Workday Integration implementation and enhancement projects.

  • Collaborate with HRIS, IS/IT and vendor teams to ensure successful delivery.

  • Plan and prioritize integration activities to align with project timelines.

  • Conduct impact analysis for system upgrades and integration changes.

4. Testing, Deployment & Support

  • Oversee unit testing, SIT, and UAT for all Workday integrations.

  • Support post-go-live operations, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and issue resolution.

  • Maintain integration documentation, version control

  • Monitor production integrations and proactively address failures or performance issues.

Skills Required

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Integration development.

  • Strong expertise in: Core Connectors, PECI, Workday Studio, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST), EIB, Raas, WECI, PICOF, API Specification, XSLT, XML, JSON, DIS, OAUTH 2.0, XPATH.

  • Deep understanding of Workday HCM and Security frameworks.

  • Proven ability to lead integration teams, define best practices, and ensure quality delivery.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience working in Agile or Hybrid delivery environments.

  • API Management Tool - APIGEE

Work Experience –

  • Minimum 5 + years of experience in Workday and Workday Integration.

  • Should have Experience in Managing Workday Integration Team technically.

Educational Requirements -

  • B.Tech/ Engineering or Postgraduate.
