Step Into the World of Nicobar

Founded in 2016 by Simran Lal and Raul Rai, Nicobar is a modern, mindful, design-led lifestyle brand from India.

We wanted to create a new Indian sensibility that wasnt necessarily Westernised.

Were reimagining a contemporary Indian way of living, dressing, and looking at the worldrooted in culture, shaped by design, and guided by intention. At Nicobar, we believe in culture as much as commerce, and that how we build is just as important as what we build.

Our studio is tucked away in Tulsi Farms, Chhatarpur, Delhi. Nestled among trees, seasonal gardens, a citrus grove, and our beloved dogs Nico & Dot, we call it the Treehouse. It earned its name when our architect reworked the blueprint to protect every single tree on the land. Its a space where creativity brims and energy flows.

Your Role in the Story: What this position is about and why it matters in the larger Nicobar ecosystem.

This role is central to shaping Nicobars womenswear collections, translating modern Indian sensibilities into thoughtful, wearable design. It ensures that each piece reflects the brands balance of craft, functionality, and contemporary aesthetics. The position plays a key role in strengthening Nicobars womenswear identity while supporting commercial and creative growth.

You will design and develop seasonal womenswear collections from concept to final product, collaborating closely with textile, print, and production teams. The role involves creating silhouettes, prints, and details that align with Nicobars design language while meeting commercial goals. Attention to fit, finish, and storytelling will be critical to delivering cohesive collections.

What You Bring Along: Essentials were looking for in your experience, skillset, and mindset.

Were looking for a womenswear designer with a strong foundation in design, fabrics, and garment construction, and experience in contemporary or lifestyle brands. You should be detail-oriented, commercially aware, and comfortable working across multiple stages of the design process. A balanced mindset that blends creativity with practicality is key.
