Job Description:

Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) specialized in Windows infrastructure with VMware as a secondary skill.

Location: Bengaluru

Work Hours & On-Call:

• Engineers will rotate shifts covering both US and India time zones to ensure 24x7 operational support.
• Participation in on-call roster (PagerDuty) for after-hours, weekends, and critical incident support as per customer-defined schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer Windows server environments (deployment, configuration, performance management, and troubleshooting).
• Provide L2/L3 support for escalated incidentsroot cause analysis, rapid remediation, and post-incident documentation for both Windows and VMware platforms.
• Implement and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, user/group management.
• Conduct lifecycle operations including patching, upgrades (OS, firmware, drivers), monitoring, and health checks of servers.
• Participate in and document scheduled changes and maintenanceincluding resource allocations, failovers, migrations, VM provisioning (using automated or ServiceNow workflows).
• Secondary responsibility in supporting VMware environments: VM creation/deployment, vMotion, resource scaling, troubleshooting vCenter alarms, and storage management.
• Participate in monthly Windows patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance tracking.
• Develop/maintain scripts (PowerShell preferred) for operational automation and efficiency improvement.
• Respond to monitoring alerts (PagerDuty/ServiceNow); triage and resolve P1/P2 production issues promptly.
• Work with global teams to drive follow-the-sun support, partnering with US/EU peers during hand-off transitions.
• Maintain and update operational SOPs, RCA documentation, and contribute to continual service improvement.

Deliverables

• Detailed weekly status and incident activity reports.
• Participation in change controls, CAB meetings, and CI/CD pipeline integration for infrastructure operations, as requested.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years in Windows server administration, SRE/IT Operations, or related field.
• Strong Windows Server skills (2016, 2019, or later): installation, patching, GPO, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, failover clustering.
• Experience supporting virtualized environments (VMware vSphere preferred): VM provisioning, vMotion, hardware upgrades, snapshot management.
• Scripting for automation (PowerShell mandatory; Python or Bash a plus).
• Incident response and root cause analysis for both infrastructure and OS layer issues.
• Experience with monitoring/tools (e.g., PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Zabbix, Nagios, Veeam, SolarWinds).
• Understanding of basic networking/TCP-IP concepts.
• Nice to Have: Experience with ITIL processes, Linux/Unix familiarity, cloud environment support (AWS/Azure), and configuration management (SCCM/Ansible).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for interacting with global teams and documenting procedures.
• Willingness for on-call/weekend/rotation coverage.
