Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Telephony Engineer with strong expertise in Vonage telephony systems to design, implement, and support enterprise-grade communication solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud-based telephony platforms, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and support scalable and reliable communication solutions using Vonage Communications APIs
  • Integrate voice and messaging services (SMS/MMS) into existing platforms
  • Develop and maintain robust backend services and APIs, ensuring high availability and resilience
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure secure, reliable communication services
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions
  • Perform system monitoring, upgrades, patching, and health checks
  • Provide L2/L3 support for telephony-related incidents and service requests
  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides
  • Ensure compliance with security, performance, and reliability standards
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for issue resolution and enhancements


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Telephony Engineer or in a similar role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Vonage telephony systems (Vonage Business, Vonage Communications APIs, or Contact Center solutions)
  • Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous processing
  • Solid knowledge of VoIP technologies including SIP, RTP, PBX, and call routing
  • Experience with cloud-based telephony and unified communications platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills


Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience integrating CRM or third-party systems using Vonage or Twilio APIs
  • Experience designing microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x
  • Exposure to contact center solutions and call analytics/reporting
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and incident management
  • Relevant VoIP or Unified Communications certifications
