Job Profile:

Roles and Responsibilities:

This position will support the U.S. HR Controllers group in performing recurring accounting journal entries, reconciliation, and financial reporting activities related to compensation, benefits, and other HR-related financial processes. This role involves handling sensitive HR financial data and requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, analytical ability, and timeliness. This role will work closely with U.S.-based stakeholders, HR Benefits, HR Compensation, Payroll, and other Finance teams. The job responsibilities include:


Key Responsibilities

Monthly & Periodic Journal Entries:

Review monthly journal entries during month-end close prepared by the team, including:

  • RSU Expense journal entries for MUBK, MUSA (prep only) & Intrepid (prep only).
  • Dividend journal entries twice per year.
  • Severance journal entries.
  • Retention bonus journal entries.
  • Withholdings and non-exempt accrual journal entries.
  • Monthly preparation of Global HR invoices & detail.
  • Preparation of payroll-related intercompany journal entries.
  • Voluntary Deferred Compensation entries.
  • Home equity journal entries.


Reconciliations:

Review monthly reconciliations prepared by the team, including:

  • WIP certification for HR Controllers accounts in OVS.
  • Equity certification.
  • Pension certifications.
  • Other certifications related to journal entries prepared.


RFIs:

  • RSU Activities (quarterly).
  • RSU equity movement (quarterly).
  • RSU Roll forward (semi-annual).
  • Pension RFIs (quarterly).


Plan Audits & Other operations:

  • Oversight of trial balance and financial statements for: Pension plans (MUBK & BTMU's last year in 2026), 401(k). Will also assist with Health Plan trial balance/financials, RSU equity movement (quarterly).
  • Assist team with RSU vesting events, which include setting up Net Shares file to determine number of RSU shares to purchase for 5 vesting events that occur throughout the year.
  • Assist team with maintaining documentation for all process and assisting with compliance needs where necessary.
  • Annual year-end preparation of pension-related items, including the FMV classification for plan assets and cash flows for non-qualified pension plans.
  • Quarterly preparation of rollforwards for severance, RSUs, and Voluntary Deferred Compensation Plans.
  • Backup for tasks performed by existing Genpact resource.


Job Requirements:

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of leading a team
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Proficient with Excel/VBA, Word and Access)
  • Good exposure to accounting software packages.
  • Good written and verbal skills

Qualifications:

  • Experience of working in financial closing and reporting teams in Banking GCCs or a big 4 accounting firm practice, preferably with a controls and governance focus.
  • Bachelors / Masters degree and relevant accounting qualifications.


Performance and Duties:

  • The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entitys performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant.
  • As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and emended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.
  • Managing conflicts of interest/dual hat status (If Applicable)
  • The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favor.
  • The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity
