Job Summary:
Experienced VMware Administrator with over 3+ years of hands-on expertise in managing virtual infrastructure using VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vRealize Operations Manager. Skilled in high availability, disaster recovery, storage integration, and performance tuning. Capable of troubleshooting complex issues across compute, storage, and network layers, with added value in automation through scripting.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and manage VMware vSphere environments including ESXi hosts and vCenter servers. Configure and support features like DRS, HA, FT, vMotion, and SRM for high availability and disaster recovery. Monitor and optimize VMware infrastructure performance (CPU, memory, disk, and network). Integrate and manage storage solutions (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS) within virtual environments. Utilize vSAN, NSX, and vRealize Operations Manager for advanced virtualization capabilities. Collaborate with backup and recovery teams to manage solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, and NetBackup. Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerCLI, PowerShell, or Python. Maintain up-to-date documentation of infrastructure and standard operating procedures. Qualifications and Skills
3+ years of experience in VMware administration. Expertise in VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), vSAN, NSX, and vRealize Operations Manager. Solid understanding of VMware features like DRS, HA, FT, vMotion, and SRM. Knowledge of enterprise storage systems and protocols (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS). Proficient in performance tuning and troubleshooting of virtual environments. Familiarity with backup tools (Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, etc.). Experience with automation and scripting using PowerCLI, PowerShell, or Python (preferred). Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
