Job Description
Job Title: Social Media Marketing Specialist
Location: Mumbai
Team: Marketing
Reports to: Social Media Lead / Brand Manager
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Social Media Specialist whose primary strength is shooting and editing high-performing content for Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and other short-form platforms.
This is not a coordination-only role. This is a creator-operator role.
Your core job will be to:
- Conceptualize
- Shoot
- Edit
- Optimize scroll-stopping content for a fast-paced gifting brand.
If you think in transitions, hooks, frames, sound design and retention curves this role is for you.
Core Responsibilities (Primary Focus: 60%)
1. Content Shooting & Production
- Shoot product-first and people-first content (reels, trending formats, use-case videos, BTS, testimonials)
- Execute both indoor studio shoots and quick-turn outdoor/mobile shoots
- Ensure visual quality, lighting, framing and brand consistency
- Coordinate with category, design and performance teams for shoot requirements
2. Editing & Post-Production
- Edit high-performing short-form content (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts)
- Add captions, hooks, transitions, music, motion text, memes and native effects
- Optimize for retention (strong first 3 seconds)
- Repurpose long-form into short-form cuts
- Deliver quick turnarounds during campaign windows
Secondary Responsibilities (40%)
Social Media Management
- Assist in content calendar execution
- Write basic captions (platform-first, not generic brand copy)
- Upload, schedule and optimize posts
- Track performance metrics (views, saves, shares, retention, CTR)
- Identify trending formats, sounds and viral opportunities weekly
Influencer & UGC Support
- Coordinate for creator content shoots
- Edit influencer raw footage into brand-ready cuts
- Assist in building UGC-style ads
Performance Feedback Loop
- Analyze which formats work (gift reveal, surprise reactions, aesthetic flatlays, etc.)
- Share weekly insights: what to scale, what to kill, what to test
Skills Required
Must-Have
- 13 years of experience in social media content creation
- Strong video shooting skills (mobile-first + basic camera setup)
- Strong editing skills (CapCut / VN / Premiere Pro / Final Cut)
- Understanding of Instagram and YouTube algorithms
- Ability to move fast during campaign periods (Valentines, Rakhi, Mothers Day, etc.)
Good to Have
- Basic photography skills
- Experience with product styling
- Understanding of performance creatives (ads vs organic)
- Meme culture familiarity
- Experience working with D2C brands
