Role Purpose

The VPTechnical Lead will be embedded in the globally distributed Clearing LD Stream. You will drive the design, development, and optimisation of software solutions that support clearing activities, working closely with Agile Scrum teams across multiple time zones to deliver secure, highperformance, scalable applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Architecture

• Review existing designs, identify bottlenecks and propose scalable, highperformance alternatives.
• Lead architectural discussions and define the vision together with business and technology stakeholders.
• Conduct gapanalysis and design modernisation roadmaps (e.g., migration to microservices, eventdriven patterns).

Development & Delivery

• Fullstack development (UI, middleware, services/API, backend) using Java 8+ (Spring/SpringBoot), Angular 14+, Kafkabased eventdriven architecture and Oracle PL/SQL.
• Apply cuttingedge GenerativeAI tools throughout the SDLC to optimise design, coding and rollout.
• Perform performance benchmarking and tuning (Dynatrace, JMeter, etc.).
• Ensure adherence to DevSecOps pipelines (Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonar, Fortify, NexusIQ, Ansible).

Quality & Best Practices

• Champion TestDriven Development (TDD), code reviews, and automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, etc.).
• Define and enforce coding standards, designpattern usage and documentation guidelines.
• Mentor a small technical team; onboard and train members on target technologies.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work seamlessly with geographically dispersed Agile squads, providing technical guidance and resolving blockers.
• Communicate architecture decisions and progress to team leads and senior management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 15 years of IT experience (software design, development, and delivery).
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Prior experience in clearing, settlement or related capitalmarkets domains is a plus.

Required Technical Skills

• Core Languages: Java 8+ (core, Spring, Spring Boot)
• Front end: Angular 14+
• Databases: Oracle SQL/PL SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning
• Messaging: Kafka (event driven architecture)
• Integration: Apache Camel, REST/GraphQL APIs
• Testing: JUnit, Mockito (or similar), TDD
• Design: Domain Driven Design, API First, modular/monolith/micro service architectures
• DevSecOps: Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonar, Fortify, NexusIQ, Ansible (good to have)
• Performance: Application profiling, Dynatrace or equivalent
• Methodologies: Agile (Scrum, XP), continuous delivery
