Job Description

Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: you will be responsible for leading procurement efforts to efficiently and effectively enable business units and functional partners to maximize the value they receive from suppliers to meet their objectives. You will drive, enable and motivate different stakeholders within the company to achieve short and long-term goals. 

As you look at your tasks for the day, you know that as the Vice President of Procurement , you must collaborate with the different groups, internal and external, to lead centralized direct and indirect sourcing and procurement efforts from initial identification to final goods or services delivery. Along with this, you will work across departments to ensure the success of the annual budget process to achieve their departments short and long term goals. Specifically this role will be responsible for the following process: demand management, supply analysis/strategy, supplier identification, sourcing execution, contract negotiation, delivery planning and monitoring, purchase execution, and ongoing performance management and improvement, You will be the leader of the global procurement team and will be expected to coordinate with the procurement team globally to ensure adequate internal controls and execution of the company’s purchasing practices.

 

As the Vice President of Procurement, you are expected to review and communicate monthly financial and other related reports to management and other stakeholders, including senior leaders in finance, operations, client services, legal, sales, and people operations. You will implement necessary controls and limits, and continuously monitor all aspects of the company’s procurement practices.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Development of organizational procurement strategy and plans, including investment, resource and skill requirements

  • Creation and management of short, mid, and long term goals and objectives

  • Development of benchmarks and metrics including a routine scorecards to set baseline standards and review for improvement opportunities

  • Coordination and oversight of company procurement with a view towards reducing costs while improving the overall quality of purchased goods and services

  • Closely link procurement performance with business needs

  • Creation and ongoing value creation of a strong supply base

  • Creation and improvement of best-practice based processes

  • Management of business process outsourcing activities

  • Identification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities

  • Selection and management of procurement systems

  • Collaborates with business leaders to evaluate Technology investment plans

  • Partner with IT/Finance/Legal in the contract administration of all third party agreements, etc

  • Management of procurement staff in (and across) sourcing, contracting, transactional purchasing, supplier management, and miscellaneous internal procurement support activities

  • Negotiate various service multi-year agreements

  • Leadership of cross-functional teaming across other business functions and initiatives

Requirements:

Since this is a Leadership role we’d need someone who already has the skills to even call themselves a Leader. Definitely someone with experience in being one, if you have at least 10 years of experience and at least 5 years of experience in a cross functional role with exposure to executive teams, you can qualify for the role. Someone with experience in various domains in the outsourcing Industry would definitely have an edge.

 

This is a Vice President of Procurement role so having a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement or Business Administration is needed.

 

We need someone who has extensive knowledge and skills in using MS Office applications & Google business applications, particularly in MS Excel because let’s face it -- MS Excel and or google sheet will be one of the applications you’ll be using ALL THE TIME. Experience using Oracle Fusion ERP or similar ERP products is preferred.
