VP Ops EXC Managed Services
Location: Gurgaon, Haryana, India (On-site)
Reports to: Board
Time: 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM (5 Days Working )
Location: Gurgaon, Haryana, India (On-site)
Role overview
EXC Managed Services is the execution engine for ElevenX Capital and its portfolio, embedding India-based teams to run finance, HR, legal, compliance, IT, and related operations for global, venture-backed companies. The VP OPs will own day-to-day delivery and scale-up of these managed services, building audit-ready, investment-grade operations that support multi-country expansion for portfolio clients.
The role requires a hands-on operator who has built and scaled operations in fast-growth, tech-led environments, with strong exposure to global clients (US/UK/MENA) and cross-border compliance. The VP Ops acts as second-in-command to the President / COO / CEO, translating growth strategy into on-the-ground execution, metrics, and culture across EXCs service lines.
Key responsibilities
Leadership & culture
- Lead EXCs India-based operations within the strategic and governance parameters set by the CEO and ElevenX Capital board.
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performance leadership bench across Finance & Accounting, HR, Talent Acquisition, Legal & Compliance, IT, and Shared Services.
- Create an execution-first culture that emphasizes ownership, transparency, speed, and ethical practices, while maintaining a collaborative, open communication environment.
Operational execution & service delivery
- Own day-to-day delivery for EXCs managed services portfolio, ensuring SLAs, quality benchmarks, and client satisfaction targets (99%+ CSAT) are consistently achieved.
- Design, improve, and scale operational systems, processes, and policies to support global expansion, including standardized playbooks across finance, HR, payroll, compliance, and legal workflows.
- Ensure smooth coordination among support functions (HR, IT, Finance, Legal, Talent) and frontline client teams, with clear RACI, KPIs, and escalation paths.
Cross-border compliance & controls
- Establish and maintain audit-ready processes across India and US entities, covering statutory filings, payroll, tax, labor law, and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with external legal, tax, and accounting advisors as needed while ensuring EXC remains the central execution and project management layer.
- Implement robust internal controls, risk registers, and compliance calendars, and provide regular updates to leadership and investors.
Financial management & P&L ownership
- Own P&L for EXC Managed Services, including budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and margin improvement at company and service-line level.
- Implement tools and dashboards to track utilization, capacity, pipeline, and client-level unit economics to support data-driven decision making and pricing.
- Present monthly and quarterly performance updates, operational forecasts, and key risks to the CEO and ElevenX leadership.
Client & portfolio engagement
- Work closely with ElevenX partners, portfolio founders, CFOs, and COOs to design and implement operating models that support their India and multi-country expansion.
- Ensure EXC teams embed effectively into portfolio operations, acting as a trusted extension of their finance, HR, and compliance functions rather than as a traditional outsourcing vendor.
- Drive continuous improvement and expansion of services within existing portfolio relationships, identifying opportunities for new offerings and deeper engagement.
Organization building & scale
- Build and scale teams from early stage to a mature, process-driven organization, including hiring, training, and succession planning across levels.
- Implement OKRs and performance management systems that align team goals with EXCs growth, quality, and profitability metrics.
- Lead or sponsor strategic internal initiatives such as new service-line launches, technology platform upgrades, and automation/AI adoption within operations.
Candidate profile
Experience & background
- 1218 years of total experience with at least 810 years in senior operations leadership roles (Director / VP / Head of Operations / COO) in fast-scaling environments.
- Strong exposure to global clients (especially US) in one or more of: managed services, BPO/KPO, shared services, captive centers, or tech-enabled operations.
- Proven track record in building or scaling multi-functional operations (Finance, HR, Talent, Compliance, IT) for tech, SaaS, fintech, or similar portfolio-backed companies.
- Demonstrated experience owning P&L, driving operational efficiency, and delivering against aggressive growth and profitability targets.
Skills & competencies
- Strong operator with a builder mindset: able to move from strategy and operating model design down to day-to-day execution and firefighting when required.
- Excellent people leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills; able to work with founders, investors, and cross-functional internal teams.
- High analytical rigor and comfort with metrics, dashboards, and systems; strong business systems and technology orientation (ERP, HRIS, accounting tools, workflow platforms).
- Strong problem-solving, structured thinking, and judgment under ambiguity; able to operate in a venture/portfolio environment with evolving needs and priorities.
- Outstanding communication skills in English, both written and verbal, suitable for C-level and global stakeholder interactions.
Education
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or related field preferred.
