From brands like Paper Boat, 1 Finance, BigBasket, Duolingo, Arctic Fox, Heads Up For Tails, Xiaomi, 1mg, Dunzo, Airtel to many others, Humour Me has created category inventing work, helping build some of Indias most loved brands.
Role
This role is the custodian of revenue, margins, and client trust at Humour Me.
The VP, Account Management is a P&L and business leadership role , not a servicing or day-to-day delivery position. You will own business growth, margin protection, quality of output, and the agencys ability to scale without compromising creative excellence or operational sanity.
You will act as the internal equivalent of a client-side CMO or business head responsible for ensuring that the work we produce drives tangible outcomes for both our clients and the agency.
Key Responsibilities
Business & P&L Ownership
- Own revenue growth, profitability, and margin health across all key accounts.
- Drive annual business planning, forecasting, and pricing strategy in partnership with senior leadership.
- Ensure margin protection through intelligent scoping, resourcing models, and cost controls.
- Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts and convert them into sustainable revenue streams.
- Take accountability for overall business performance, not just effort or activity.
Client Leadership & Strategic Influence
- Serve as the senior-most business and strategy voice for clients within the agency.
- Build deep, long-term relationships with CXOs, CMOs, and senior marketing leaders.
- Lead high-stakes strategic conversations, retainership renewals, and commercial negotiations.
- Be the final point of escalation and decision-making for client relationships.
- Ensure Humour Me is viewed as a business partner , not a vendor.
Quality Assurance & Performance
- Own the quality, effectiveness, and performance of all content and campaigns delivered under your purview.
- Ensure brand objectives, platform KPIs, and business outcomes are clearly defined and met.
- Set standards for creative excellence, strategic rigour, and consistency across accounts.
- Hold teams accountable for results, not just output.
Scalable Growth & Systems Thinking
- Enable the agency to scale output without chaos by building robust systems, frameworks, and governance models.
- Improve utilisation, capacity planning, and cross-functional efficiency at a leadership level.
- Ensure delivery models support growth without eroding margins or quality.
- Champion clarity, speed, and decisiveness across teams.
New Business & Market Expansion
- Own and lead new business acquisition , from opportunity identification to pitch leadership.
- Evaluate categories, industries, and growth opportunities aligned with the agencys strengths.
- Build strong industry relationships that create inbound opportunities over time.
- Ensure new wins are strategically sound, profitable, and scalable.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, mentor, and retain senior account leadership across the agency.
- Create a strong leadership bench capable of running businesses, not just accounts.
- Set clear OKRs, performance benchmarks, and accountability structures.
- Shape culture through clarity, ownership, and high standards.
Governance & Accountability
- Review and present quarterly business performance to senior management.
- Own risk identification, course correction, and decision-making speed.
- This is a no delegate-upwards role you are the final line of defence.

Requirements
- 15+ years of experience across Marketing, Brand Management, Digital, or Advertising, with clear exposure to business and revenue ownership.
- Proven experience managing large client portfolios with P&L responsibility .
- Demonstrated ability to drive business growth while protecting margins.
- Strong understanding of platform-native content, especially YouTube and Instagram, from a performance and business lens.
- Experience working directly with senior client leadership, including CMOs and CXOs.
- Track record of leading nationally visible, high-impact campaigns for well-known brands.
- Ability to build and scale senior teams while maintaining quality and accountability.
- Commercially sharp, strategically clear, and comfortable making hard decisions.
