Role Description :
The Vice President Project & Construction Management (Data Centre) will provide end-to-end leadership across multiple concurrent Data Centre projects. The role requires deep technical expertise (Electrical / Mechanical), strong commercial acumen, disciplined project governance, and the ability to build and scale high-performance delivery teams.
The incumbent will be accountable for schedule adherence, margin protection, client satisfaction, safety, quality, and operational excellence across the Data Centre project portfolio.
Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Multi-Project Portfolio Leadership
- Lead execution of multiple large-scale Data Centre projects across regions.
- Ensure alignment of all projects with corporate delivery, safety, and quality standards.
- Establish standardized project governance framework across sites.
- Provide strategic oversight on resource deployment and cross-project optimization.
2. Technical & Engineering Depth
- Bring strong domain expertise in Electrical and/or Mechanical systems relevant to Data Centres (HV/LV systems, UPS, cooling systems, BMS, fire & life safety, etc.).
- Guide engineering decisions, value engineering initiatives, and technical risk mitigation.
- Ensure seamless integration between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning.
3. Commercial Acumen & Margin Protection
- Safeguard project margins across the portfolio.
- Oversee cost control, change order management, and claims strategy.
- Ensure robust financial forecasting, cash flow management, and billing discipline.
- Review project-level P&L performance and intervene proactively where required.
4. Leadership & Team Development
- Build and mentor General Managers / Project Directors and site leadership teams.
- Develop second-line leadership capability across planning, QA/QC, safety, and project controls.
- Drive productivity benchmarks and accountability culture.
- Strengthen succession planning within the DC delivery organization.
5. Customer-First & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with client CXOs, PMC leaders, and key stakeholders.
- Act as escalation authority for strategic client issues.
- Drive structured client reporting and review cadence.
- Ensure repeat business through delivery excellence.
6. Process & Governance Discipline
- Institutionalize structured project controls (cost, schedule, risk, and quality dashboards).
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews with COO and leadership team.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, statutory norms, safety standards, and ESG expectations.
- Implement continuous improvement and best practice sharing across projects.
Must Have Requirements:
1. Experience
- 2230+ years of experience in EPC / MEP / Mission-Critical Infrastructure.
- 10+ years leading large-scale Data Centre or equivalent mission-critical projects.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent high-value projects.
2. Technical & Commercial Strength
- Deep technical expertise in Electrical or Mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of contracts, risk mitigation, and financial controls.
- Proven track record of margin protection and project turnaround capability.
3. Leadership Competencies
- Ability to build and scale highly productive delivery organizations.
- Strong decision-making under pressure and complex stakeholder environments.
- Highly process-driven and governance-oriented mindset.
- Customer-first philosophy with strategic relationship management ability.
4. Educational Qualification
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
- PMP or equivalent certification (preferred).
- MBA (added advantage).
