Role Description :


The VP PMO (Data Centre) will lead the Project Controls and Governance function across the Data Centre portfolio. This role will drive standardization, schedule integrity, cost control discipline, and performance visibility across multiple large-scale projects.

The incumbent must bring deep technical expertise (Electrical / Mechanical), strong commercial acumen, structured governance mindset, and the ability to build a high-performing project controls organization.

This role is pivotal in safeguarding margins, ensuring delivery predictability, and enabling data-driven decision-making at the leadership level.


Key Responsibility Areas:


1. Lead the Project Controls Vertical

  • Head Project Planning, Scheduling, Cost Control, and Reporting functions.
  • Establish standardized project control frameworks across all DC projects.
  • Implement robust baseline management (schedule & cost).
  • Drive earned value management (EVM) and performance analytics.


2. Portfolio-Level Governance & Visibility

  • Develop consolidated dashboards for COO and leadership reviews.
  • Conduct monthly project reviews and quarterly business reviews.
  • Identify early warning signals for delays, cost overruns, and risks.
  • Ensure structured change management and variation tracking.


3. Technical & Commercial Depth

  • Apply strong Electrical / Mechanical domain understanding to evaluate project risks and execution strategy.
  • Review technical sequencing and construction logic in master schedules.
  • Ensure cost control discipline aligned with contract terms and margin objectives.
  • Support claims strategy with data-backed documentation.


4. Customer-First & Predictability Focus

  • Ensure transparent reporting and schedule credibility with clients.
  • Strengthen forecast reliability and commitment management.
  • Align internal controls with client expectations for mission-critical delivery.


5. Process-Driven Institutionalization

  • Develop and standardize templates, SOPs, and control matrices.
  • Build centralized data repository for cost benchmarking and schedule analytics.
  • Drive digital enablement of PMO (planning tools, dashboards, ERP alignment)
  • Ensure audit readiness and compliance discipline.


6. Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and mentor a high-performing project controls team across regions.
  • Develop second-line leaders in planning and cost management.
  • Set productivity benchmarks and accountability metrics.
  • Create a culture of ownership, discipline, and performance excellence.


Must Have Requirements:


1. Experience

  • 2028+ years in EPC / MEP / Mission-Critical Infrastructure.
  • 812+ years leading Project Controls / PMO in large-scale Data Centre or equivalent infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing multi-project portfolio environments.


2. Technical & Commercial Strength

  • Deep technical expertise in Electrical or Mechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, risk mitigation, cost governance, and claims.
  • Expertise in planning tools (Primavera/MS Project) and EVM methodologies.


3. Leadership Competencies

  • Ability to build and scale a highly productive project controls organization.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability.
  • Highly process-driven and governance-oriented mindset.
  • Customer-first approach with strong stakeholder management capability.


4. Educational Qualification

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • PMP / Planning certifications (preferred).
  • MBA (Finance / Operations) added advantage.
