Role Overview
The Vice President Insurance Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing the
operational strategy for London market policy services and underwriting operations. The role ensures scalable,
high-quality delivery, strong governance, regulatory compliance, and continuous operational transformation. This
position partners closely with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive growth, efficiency, and
risk-controlled outcomes at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Operations Leadership
Provide strategic leadership and overall accountability for London market insurance operations. Translate business
objectives into a multi-year operational roadmap aligned with growth goals. Act as the senior escalation point for
complex operational, regulatory, and delivery issues.
End-to-End Policy Lifecycle Governance
Own governance across the full policy lifecycle including underwriting support, binding, post-bind activities,
accounting and settlement, renewals, administration, and reporting. Ensure adherence to market practices,
contractual obligations, and regulatory standards. Oversee policy issuance, endorsements, bordereaux processing,
invoicing, and rule-based decision making.
Client Delivery & Performance Management
Own SLAs, KPIs, productivity, turnaround time, quality, and accuracy metrics across engagements. Lead
governance forums, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities for scope
expansion, value creation, and operational efficiency.
Transformation, Technology & Analytics
Drive process standardization, digitization, and automation initiatives. Partner with technology and analytics teams
to implement scalable operating models. Strengthen management information, reporting, and data-driven
decision-making.
Risk, Controls & Compliance
Ensure strong operational controls, audit readiness, and compliance across engagements. Proactively identify,
assess, and mitigate operational and regulatory risks.
People Leadership & Collaboration
Build, mentor, and develop senior managers and leadership pipelines. Foster a high-performance, client-centric
culture. Collaborate with global stakeholders across delivery, technology, analytics, finance, and HR.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree required; postgraduate degree or insurance certifications preferred. 15+ years of experience in
insurance operations with deep exposure to UK / London market operations. Strong understanding of policy
administration systems and data workflows. Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-client insurance
operations. Demonstrated leadership in stakeholder management, decision-making, and people development.
