Vice President - Institutional Equity & Investor Relations

Oister is looking for a Vice President - Institutional Business to lead our capital-raising efforts across the institutional landscape. This role is pivotal in driving the growth of our Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) by securing commitments from sophisticated investors. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a "golden rolodex" of institutional relationships and a deep understanding of the private markets ecosystem.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Capital Raising & Strategic Fundraising:
- Direct Fundraising: Lead the end-to-end fundraising process, from lead generation and initial outreach to final commitment, specifically targeting Corporate Treasuries, Insurance Companies, DFIs, and large Multi-Family Offices.
- Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of institutional prospects, ensuring a disciplined approach to reaching Assets Under Management (AUM) targets for various AIF schemes.
- Product Positioning: Articulate Oister's investment thesis, fund structures, and performance metrics to sophisticated Investment Committees (ICs) and Chief Investment Officers (CIOs).
2. Institutional Relationship Management:
- Strategic Coverage: Act as the primary point of contact for institutional investors, fostering long-term partnerships built on trust and transparency.
- Bespoke Engagement: Understand the specific mandates, risk appetites, and liquidity requirements of different institutional segments (e.g., the long-term horizon of insurance vs. the yield focus of corporate treasuries).
- Stakeholder Navigation: Navigate complex organizational hierarchies within large institutions to reach key decision-makers and influencers.
3. Market Intelligence & Product Strategy:
- Private Market Specialist: Stay ahead of trends in Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Private Debt to position Oister effectively against domestic and global competitors.
- Feedback Loop: Act as the "voice of the investor" for the internal product and investment teams, providing insights that inform the design of future fund structures and investment strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all capital-raising activities strictly adhere to SEBI AIF regulations and other relevant institutional investment guidelines.
4. Sales Operations & Collateral Excellence:
- Institutional Reporting: Work with the investment team to prepare high-quality institutional-grade pitch books, Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs), and data rooms.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with the Operations and Legal teams to streamline the onboarding process for institutional LPs, ensuring a seamless "subscription to drawdown" experience.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience: Around 6-12 years of experience in Institutional Sales, Investor Relations, or Investment Banking, with 5 years specifically focused on Alternative Investments (AIFs or Private Equity).
- Existing Network: A proven and active network of relationships within the Indian institutional landscape, particularly Corporate Treasurers and Insurance CIOs.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of private market fund structures (Category I, II, and III AIFs), drawdown cycles, IRR/DPI/TVPI metrics, and the nuances of private asset valuations.
- Communication Style: Exceptional ability to simplify complex investment strategies into compelling narratives. Experience presenting to Investment Committees is a must.
- Education: MBA, CA, or CFA Charterholder is highly preferred.
