The Opportunity

Join FICO as Vice President of Cloud Operations, where you'll lead the transformation and scaling of our cloud infrastructure that powers the FICO Platform. This is a critical leadership role where you'll oversee cloud operations, including DevOps Engineering, Cloud Engineering, and infrastructure services that enable our platform to deliver mission-critical solutions to enterprises worldwide.

As the senior leader for cloud operations, you'll refine and advance the strategy, execution, and continuous evolution of our AWS cloud infrastructure across multiple regions. You'll ensure our platform maintains the highest standards of reliability, security, and performance while enabling rapid innovation and deployment capabilities for our engineering teams. This role is perfect for a seasoned cloud operations executive who combines deep technical expertise with strategic vision and the ability to lead large, distributed teams in delivering world-class cloud services.

What You'll Contribute

Strategic Cloud Leadership

• Refine and execute a comprehensive cloud operations strategy that supports FICO Platform's growth and scalability requirements
• Enhance our AWS cloud strategy to optimize performance, cost, and reliability across all regions and services
• Drive cloud transformation initiatives that modernize our infrastructure while maintaining enterprise-grade stability and security

Operational Excellence

• Lead and scale our world-class DevOps and Cloud Engineering teams to deliver exceptional reliability and performance
• Enhance and maintain SLAs that exceed enterprise customer requirements for availability, performance, and security
• Optimize comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems that ensure proactive platform management

Infrastructure & Platform Engineering

• Oversee the evolution and optimization of scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS infrastructure architectures
• Advance infrastructure-as-code initiatives that enable reproducible, automated deployments across environments
• Enhance containerization and orchestration strategies using Kubernetes and related technologies

DevOps Culture & Practices

• Champion and evolve DevOps best practices across the engineering organization, strengthening collaboration between development and operations
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid, reliable deployments while maintaining quality and security standards
• Foster a culture of automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Security & Compliance

• Ensure cloud infrastructure meets all security, compliance, and regulatory requirements for enterprise customers
• Lead security-first approaches to cloud architecture and operations, implementing zero-trust principles and defense-in-depth strategies
• Partner with security teams to maintain and enhance robust security postures across all cloud environments

Cost Optimization & Governance

• Refine cloud financial management practices that optimize costs while maintaining performance and reliability
• Enhance governance frameworks that ensure proper resource utilization, tagging, and accountability
• Drive FinOps initiatives that provide transparency and control over cloud spending

What We're Seeking

Cloud Operations Leadership

• Extensive experience leading large-scale cloud operations teams with proven success managing complex AWS environments at enterprise scale
• Deep expertise in AWS services and architectures with hands-on experience operating mission-critical infrastructures

Technical Excellence

• Comprehensive understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, containers, and orchestration platforms
• Strong background in infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)

DevOps Expertise

• Proven track record implementing and scaling DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment strategies
• Experience building and leading DevOps engineering teams that enable rapid, reliable software delivery

Platform Reliability

• Deep expertise in site reliability engineering principles with experience maintaining high-availability systems
• Proven ability to design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for mission-critical platforms

Security & Compliance

• Extensive experience implementing security best practices in AWS environments including identity management, encryption, and network security
• Strong understanding of enterprise compliance requirements and experience maintaining security certifications

Strategic Business Acumen

• Ability to align cloud operations strategy with business objectives and demonstrate ROI on infrastructure investments
• Experience managing large operational budgets and driving cost optimization without compromising quality

Leadership & Team Building

• Exceptional leadership skills with proven ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing technical teams
• Experience leading geographically distributed teams and fostering collaboration across time zones

Stakeholder Management

• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence executive decision-making
• Proven track record of partnering with engineering, product, and business teams to deliver integrated solutions
