Job Description
The role for the School of Liberal Arts and Humanities will serve as a visionary academic champion who advances intellectual depth, interdisciplinarity, and student success. This role demands excellence in liberal arts pedagogy, curriculum innovation, faculty mentorship, and student engagement that prepares learners for impactful citizenship, cultural leadership, and meaningful careers.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Strategy & Curriculum
- Collaborate with the Dean in shaping academic policies, program frameworks, and curricular innovation across humanities, social sciences, languages, and interdisciplinary studies.
- Promote experiential and inquiry-based learning, integrating research, community engagement, and creative practice.
- Ensure rigor in assessment, learning outcomes, and academic standards.
Faculty Leadership & Development
- Recruit, nurture, and evaluate high-caliber faculty committed to teaching excellence, research, and scholarly impact.
- Support faculty development in pedagogy, research funding, publications, and collaborative projects.
- Promote diversity of thought, inclusive classroom practices, and academic mentorship.
Student Experience & Development
- Oversee academic advising, student retention strategies, academic integrity, and co-curricular learning.
- Champion programs that cultivate critical thinking, intercultural competence, ethical leadership, and civic engagement.
- Collaborate with career services to enhance internships, fellowships, and pathways to public, creative, and policy careers.
Operational Leadership
- Manage academic operations scheduling, assessment processes, accreditation readiness, and academic data analytics.
- Partner with central governance units for quality assurance, examinations, and institutional planning.
Outreach, Partnerships & Reputation
- Foster collaborations with cultural institutions, nonprofits, research centres, and international universities.
- Represent the School in academic networks, conferences, and public forums.
- Promote the Schools vision through thought leadership, symposia, and scholarly events.
Qualifications & Experience
- PhD in a discipline within humanities, social sciences, liberal arts, cultural studies, or related areas from a reputed institution.
- Minimum 10+ years of faculty and academic administrative experience with excellent outcomes in teaching, research, and student mentorship.
- Record of curricular leadership, community engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Strong communication skills, cultural fluency, and commitment to inclusive excellence.
