Veterinary Doctor - Home Visits

The Veterinary Doctor will provide in-home medical consultation and treatment for companion animals, primarily dogs and cats. The role includes clinical assessment, preventive care, minor treatment, and referral guidance where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Conduct detailed physical examination of animals
• Diagnose and manage common illnesses including infections, dermatological conditions, and gastrointestinal disorders
• Administer vaccinations and deworming treatments
• Prescribe medications and explain dosage to pet owners
• Provide minor wound care and follow-up assessment
• Identify emergencies requiring hospital-based treatment

Client Communication

• Educate pet owners on medication, diet, and basic care
• Provide preventive health advice
• Explain follow-up requirements clearly

Qualifications

• BVSc & AH
• Valid Veterinary Council Registration
• Minimum 2 years experience in small animal practice
