Vertical Lead - FBS Sourcing

To drive the development, customization, and delivery of fully built vehicle solutions, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company objectives. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality, optimize manufacturing processes, and deliver innovative, market-ready vehicle solutions that strengthen Ashok Leyland’s competitive position.

Establish a cost competitive value chain for the fully built bus.

§  Arrive at the most competitive cost based on costing sheet after selection of supplier to meet organization financial targets.

§  Monitor the cost on a pre-defined frequency and work with all stakeholders to achieve cost reduction target.

Service Level Assurance for meeting Annual and Monthly Production Plan:

·       Proactive reviews with Marketing, Program, Design team for new parts developments (on time & first-time right material)

·       FBS bus planning realization by fulfilling the material at south based body builders.

·       Planning for material availability on time & cost management by alternate sources and adopt new technologies.

Cost Management

·       Best in industry cost effective new sources inductions

·       Region wise Prime and Leg sources

·       Alternate sourcing for cost reduction

New Parts Development

·       Develop new variants at a competitive rate within the lead time based on the drawings.

Supplier Management

·       Critical suppliers debottleneck planning, visits, and improvements.

·       Monthly / quarterly meeting with suppliers. Ensure timely communication and transparency in information sharing.

·       Capability building for existing vendors; Capacity, Product, Quality, AL standards.

Develop Alternate sources- To de-risk single source components. To meet enhancement of capacity.
