Job Description
Steamax Envirocare Pvt. Ltd. specialises in the conversion of fossil-fuel-fired boilers to biomass, along with offering operation and maintenance services for industrial boilers. Our mission is to help industries reduce fuel costs and carbon emissions while ensuring reliable and efficient steam generation.
We are seeking an Utility Operation Engineer (Steam & Heat) with hands-on experience in operating and maintaining biomass-fired boilers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring boiler performance, planning and executing preventive maintenance, ensuring compliance with operational SOPs, and guiding the operations team to achieve optimal efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
- Collect and record daily operational data related to boiler performance (steam output, fuel consumption, efficiency, pressures, temperatures, etc.)
- Monitor boiler operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant performance at all times.
- Schedule and oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of boilers and auxiliary equipment.
- Develop, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for boiler operation and maintenance.
- Maintainan adequate inventory of spares and consumables, and raise procurement requests when required.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical guidance to the operating team.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and statutory requirements related to boiler operations.
- Coordinate with fuel supply, maintenance, and project teams to ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, inspection reports, and statutory certificates.
- Lead and train boiler operators and support staff to improve performance and enhance safety awareness.
Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Thermal Engineering (preferred). Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE) certification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining industrial boilers (experience with biomass-fired boilers preferred).
- Strong knowledge of boiler systems, fuel handling systems, and auxiliary equipment (ID/FD fans, pumps, etc.)
- Understanding of preventive maintenance schedules and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with statutory regulations and safety practices for boiler operation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel / digital tools for data recording and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead a small team.
