Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a US Bookkeeper / US Accountant, located in Bengaluru. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing bookkeeping and accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with US accounting standards, and handling journal entries. Additionally, the role includes working with accounting software and assisting with financial analysis to support organizational decision-making processes.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Financial Statements and Finance management
- Expertise in Bookkeeping and Journal Entries (Accounting)
- Knowledge of Accounting Software and tools
- Strong understanding of US accounting standards and practices
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or equivalent professional certification is a plus
- Experience in US taxation or related sectors is an advantage
Requirements:
- 2 years (minimum) related bookkeeping experience, including general ledger, bank reconciliations, bookkeeping best practices and financial reporting
- Experience working with tax preparers
- 2 years (minimum) experience as a supervisor with a minimum team of 2
- 1 years (minimum) customer service experience
- Excel in use of QuickBooks Online, spreadsheets and cloud-based platforms (including a variety of e-commerce, POS, and support apps)

Role & responsibilities:
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records
- Maintain general ledgers and adjust entries as needed
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (e.g., P&L, balance sheet)
- Assist with form 1099 Misc and NEC filings
- Assist with payroll processing and related filings
- Maintain organized financial records and support document requests during audits or tax filing
- Communicate with clients regularly to gather information and provide updates
- Assist with LLC/S Corp and C Corp taxes for small businesses
- Reviewing bookkeepers work for accuracy and procedure compliance including providing feedback to bookkeepers and providing deliverables to clients.
- Supporting bookkeeping staff, including training new team members, helping with questions and escalations.
- Managing bookkeeping workload, making sure projects are completed/running smoothly, managing capacity, and covering for time off.
- Overseeing completion of new client online systems setup, accounts cleanup, and developing clear workflows and handing off to bookkeepers.
- Owning the bookkeeping processes, including the Bookkeeping Procedures Manual and ensuring individual client processes are documented and up to date.
- Supporting company growth and capacity by handling project and/or regular bookkeeping client work as needed and assigned.
- Preparing and submitting sales tax reporting and 1099s, updating cash flow forecasts, budgets, and performing other custom client specific services.
- Managing year-end closing and preparation of financial packets for tax preparer.
