Job Description: Unit Head/Lead Product- Bharat Connect (BBPS) Customer Operating Unit (COU).

Position: Unit Head BBPS COU


Department: Digital & Alternate Banking


Reporting to: Division Head Payment Solutions


Location: Kochi, Kerala


Role Objective: To lead the Bharat Connect Customer Operating Unit under the Bharat Bill Payment

System (BBPS), driving product development, implementation, and operations across the Banks

various digital and physical channels. The role will focus on expanding Bharat Connects reach by

enabling BBPS transactions through Branch Banking, ATMs Micro ATMs and other Digital Platforms

while also driving the identification and onboarding of Bharat Connect Agent Institutions (AIs) and

Bharat Connect Agents (Merchants).


Ker Responsibilities:

Lead the product strategy, design, and implementation of BBPS COU across the Banks

ecosystem.

Drive COU enablement across Digital Channels, Branch Banking, ATM, and Micro ATM

platforms.

Identify, evaluate and onboard Bharat Connect Agent Institutions (AIs) in alignment with

regulatory and business guidelines.

Oversee onboarding and management of Bharat Connect Agents (Merchants), ensuring

activation, monitoring and ongoing support.

Collaborate with IT, Operations, Compliance, and Channel heads for smooth product rollout

and integration.

Ensure end-to-end compliance with NPCI, RBI, BBPS guidelines, including transaction security,

reconciliation and dispute management.

Develop and manage product roadmap, including new features, enhancements, and

automation initiatives.

Drive growth through channel optimization and merchant ecosystem expansion.

Prepare and present performance dashboards, KPIs, and strategic report to Division Head and

HOD.

Lead, mentor, and support COU team to achieve operational and strategic goals.


Qualification & Experience:

MBA or B-Tech IT or Graduate/Post Graduate with relevant experience.

8-12 years of experience Digital Banking Products, Experience in BBPS is as added advantage.

Hands on understanding of BBPS COU operations, NPCI guidelines, and multi-channel

implementation.

Experience in agent/biller network management and digital ecosystem development.

Strong analytical, leadership, and project management skills.
