Unified Communications (UC) QA Engineer

Job Title: Unified Communications (UC) Tester Audio & Embedded Systems

Location: Hyderabad

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Unified Communications (UC) Tester to validate enterprise audio and conferencing devices integrated with leading UC platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

The role focuses on audio device validation, VoIP testing, embedded systems testing, and end-to-end UC integration, ensuring high-quality communication performance across both hardware and software environments.

Key Responsibilities

1 UC & VoIP Testing

• Test Unified Communication platforms (Teams, Zoom, SIP-based systems).
• Validate call setup/teardown, call transfer, conferencing, and call handling flows.
• Verify audio routing, switching, hold, mute/unmute behaviors.
• Execute end-to-end call flow validation scenarios.

2 Audio & Device Testing (Core Area)

• Validate microphones, conferencing devices, and audio endpoints.
• Test audio quality parameters including:
• Echo cancellation
• Noise suppression
• Audio clarity and distortion
• Latency and jitter impact
• Perform USB and Bluetooth audio device testing.
• Validate firmware and driver behavior.

3 Embedded & Hardware Validation

• Test embedded systems integrated with audio devices.
• Validate performance across:
• Windows / macOS platforms
• Different firmware versions
• Driver updates
• Conduct system-level and integration testing.

4 Network & Protocol Testing

• Validate SIP, RTP, RTCP, and TCP/IP communication.
• Perform testing under varying network conditions:
• Packet loss
• Latency
• Bandwidth constraints
• Analyze logs, call traces, and protocol-level behavior.

5 QA & Test Management

• Create and execute detailed test cases and test plans.
• Perform regression and integration testing.
• Log, track, and report defects.
• Support certification and interoperability testing.

Required Skills

Must Have

• Experience in UC / VoIP testing.
• Strong understanding of SIP and RTP protocols.
• Audio device or hardware testing experience.
• Networking fundamentals.
• Manual test case design and execution.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Good to Have

• Teams or Zoom certification testing exposure.
• Knowledge of audio codecs (Opus, G.711, G.722).
• Embedded firmware validation experience.
• Bluetooth / USB audio testing.
• Automation scripting (Python / Shell).
• Wireshark or similar packet analysis tools.
