UC Systems Validation Engineer (Teams / Zoom / AV)

Job Description: Unified Communications (UC) System Verification Engineer

Overview

Shure is a global leader in professional audio and video collaboration solutions. The UC System Verification Engineer plays a key role in ensuring Shures conferencing products - microphones, loudspeakers, DSPs, conferencing bars, and AIpowered cameras deliver exceptional performance and seamless interoperability with leading platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

This role focuses on validating complete audiovideo UC ecosystems, ensuring that Shure solutions meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. UC System Verification & Quality Assurance

• Execute system-level verification for Shures integrated audio and video conferencing systems.
• Test microphones, conferencing speakers, DSP processors, and camera systems under real-world UC usage scenarios.
• Validate echo cancellation, noise reduction, automatic gain control, camera framing/tracking, and overall conferencing experience.

2. Teams & Zoom Platform Validation

• Perform compatibility, performance, and certification testing for Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms.
• Validate endtoend call flows, conferencing features, and system behaviors across different UC environments.
• Ensure Shure products comply with UC platform requirements and industry standards.

3. Test Planning & Documentation

• Develop detailed, comprehensive, and structured test plans, test cases, and validation matrices.
• Document findings clearly and maintain highquality reporting standards.
• Perform regression testing on firmware, software, and hardware releases.

4. CrossFunctional Collaboration

• Work closely with hardware, firmware, DSP, software, and product teams to identify, isolate, and resolve issues.
• Participate in design reviews and offer feedback from a UC performance and user experience perspective.
• Support product development by integrating advanced testing strategies aligned with Shures quality goals.

5. Troubleshooting & Issue Management

• Identify, reproduce, and document defects across audio, video, networking, and UC workflow areas.
• Communicate technical challenges effectively to engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Validate fixes and ensure quality improvements reflect customer expectations.

6. Network, VoIP & Performance Testing

• Evaluate UC performance under varying network conditions such as jitter, packet loss, and bandwidth limitations.
• Validate SIP/RTP-based VoIP interactions where applicable.
• Assess system stability, reliability, and long-duration conferencing performance.

7. Leadership (For Senior Roles)

• Mentor junior engineers and guide them in test execution and test strategy creation.
• Contribute to process improvements and strengthen the verification framework across UC product lines.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 58+ years of experience in system testing, quality engineering, or UC verification.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams and Zoom platforms.
• Strong understanding of UC system architecture, AV signal flows, and device integrations.
• Solid experience writing structured test plans and executing complex test cases.

Preferred

• Knowledge of conferencing DSP concepts (AEC, NR, AGC).
• Experience with cameras, speakers, microphones, and meeting-room hardware.
• Familiarity with enterprise networking (QoS, VLANs, SIP/RTP).
• Masters degree or equivalent advanced training.
