Role overview:

Here is an exciting opportunity to work with UAS (unmanned aerial systems)/Drones and related solutions, and to set you up for a great journey in the global UAS space.

As a Machatronics UAV Engineer, you will support the design and development of unmanned systems and work on engineering solutions across our products. The requirement is immediate, and we are looking for candidates who are passionate about UAS/Drones and aerospace systems in general.

Working at Aerial IQ, you will gain core design and development skills within the Unmanned Aerial Technology space.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical design, structural systems, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with mechanisms, enclosures, thermal considerations, and mechanical reliability.
  • Solid understanding of basic electronics and electrical engineering principles.
  • Experience in debugging power systems, motors, controllers, and wiring harnesses.
  • Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Basic proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Creo / CATIA or equivalent).
  • Ability to create mechanical drawings and system layouts.
  • Basic knowledge of coding or scripting (Python / C / Embedded systems).
  • Ability to support test automation or hardware interfacing.
  • Diagnose and fix electromechanical issues across mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems.
  • Debug power systems, motors, controllers, sensors, wiring harnesses, and PCB integrations.
  • Work closely with electronics and software teams to solve system-level issues.
  • Take ownership of subsystem design, testing, and deployment.
  • Support manufacturing, vendor coordination, and component selection.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and test reports.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical product development.
  • Experience working with robotics, UAVs, automation systems, or industrial electromechanical equipment is highly preferred.
  • Experience in debugging complex hardware systems.
