Job Description
Role Overview: Mountain Homestays (Initiative by GHE) Operations
The Tourism Operations Executive will be responsible for managing the complete backend and booking operations for homestays and travel experiences across Ladakh and Northeast India. The role includes handling guest communication, managing online platforms, updating internal systems, coordinating with homestay hosts and ensuring a smooth pre-arrival experience for every guest.
This is a critical role that ensures efficient functioning of all booking channels and supports Mountain Homestays commitment to high-quality, community-led tourism.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Booking & Platform Management
- Manage all online booking platforms including Airbnb, Booking.com, MakeMyTrip and internal systems
- Maintain accurate booking data, reservations, cancellations, payments, invoices and guest details
- List new properties on all platforms with complete and high-quality content
- Ensure timely updates of availability, pricing, policies and promotions
2. Guest & Host Communication
- Handle incoming guest enquiries via calls, emails, messages and booking channels
- Provide clear information on routes, weather, stay details, pricing and itinerary queries
- Coordinate with homestay hosts regarding check-ins, guest requirements, availability updates and
- feedback
- Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring a seamless pre-arrival experience
3. Itinerary & Travel Assistance
- Understand the geography, villages, travel routes, distances and weather patterns of Ladakh and Northeast India specifically
- Guide guests effectively by providing route options, travel timings, local experiences and safety considerations
- Offer itinerary support based on guest preferences and real-time field conditions
4. Sales Tracking & Reporting
- Track daily, weekly and monthly sales from all platforms
- Support the team with backend data, booking trends and operational insights
5. Online Reputation Management
- Monitor guest reviews across booking platforms
- Ensure timely and professional responses to reviews and guest feedback
6. CRM & Backend Operations
- Maintain and update CRM records including leads, follow-ups, conversions and communication history
- Support backend processes to ensure smooth functioning across all platforms
7. Coordination & Community Interface
- Work closely with hosts and community partners to ensure homestay standards are met
- Support on-ground teams (when required) with data, documentation, or listing updates
8. Marketing & Promotion Support
- Contribute ideas for promotions, offers and marketing campaigns to increase bookings
- Assist in content needs such as experience descriptions, photos or short updates for platforms
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Tourism, Hospitality or a related field (preferred but not mandatory)
- 12 years of experience in travel operations, hospitality or online platform management
- Strong communication skills
- Good understanding of geographies Ladakh, Northeast India regions and circuits
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with online travel platforms is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in MS Excel/Sheets, CRM tools and online booking systems
Expected Salary
Applicants can expect salary between INR 25,000-30,000
