TIBCO Architect – Legacy Modernization to Java Spring Boot - Chennai

About the Project: 

We are undertaking a large-scale legacy modernization initiative to migrate core integration services built in TIBCO (BW, EMS, etc.) to a modern microservices architecture using Java Spring Boot and Spring Integration. We are looking for a seasoned TIBCO Architect who can lead this transformation, working closely with solution architects, developers, and business stakeholders. 

 
Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead the architecture, assessment, and design of existing TIBCO interfaces and services to modern equivalents using Java Spring Boot. 
• Analyze existing TIBCO BusinessWorks (BW 5.x/6.x) projects including XML-based code, and design equivalent workflows and components in Java-based platforms. 
• Identify and document integration points including: 
  • TIBCO EMS/MQ (JMS messaging) 
  • TIBCO Adapters (e.g., JDBC, File, SAP) 
  • Database interactions using TIBCO JDBC/SQL activities 
  • REST/SOAP-based API Calls 
  • Custom Java Code Snippets 
• Guide the development team on best practices and patterns for rewriting TIBCO logic using Spring Integration, Apache Camel, or equivalent. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define migration strategies, timelines, and milestones. 
• Perform code reviews, gap analysis, and optimization of the target Java implementation. 
• Support production planning, data migration, and cut-over from legacy to modern systems. 

 
Required Skills & Experience: 

• 10+ years of overall experience, with 6+ years in TIBCO suite of products including: 
  • TIBCO BusinessWorks (BW 5.x/6.x) 
  • TIBCO EMS / JMS 
• TIBCO Adapters (DB, File, SAP) 
• TIBCO Administrator and Hawk (for monitoring) 
• Deep understanding of TIBCO XML configuration and the underlying generated code structure. 
• Strong command over TIBCO Activities, such as: 
  • JDBC / SQL Execution 
  • Publish/Subscribe over EMS or MQ 
  • REST/SOAP API Integration 
  • File Handling & Transformations 
  • Error Handling / Grouping Activities 
• Experience with banking or financial domain integration patterns, message standards (SWIFT, ISO20022), and transaction processing systems. 

 
Bonus / Preferred Skills: 

• Hands-on development experience in Java (8+) with strong skills in: 
  • Spring Boot / Spring Integration / Spring Cloud 
  • RESTful API Development 
  • Messaging Platforms (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka) 
• Familiarity with modern DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines) 
• Experience in cloud migration (Azure/AWS/GCP) or hybrid cloud integration is a strong plus. 
• Prior experience in TIBCO to Java migration projects is highly desirable.
