Job Title: TGT Art (Middle School Grades 5 to 10)

Job Purpose

To deliver high-quality Art education across Grades 5 to 10 by nurturing students creativity, aesthetic sense, and artistic skills, while leading the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the schools Art curriculum in alignment with CBSE guidelines and institutional needs.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons for Grades 5 to 10 using diverse mediums and techniques.
• Develop students skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, design, and mixed media.
• Integrate art history, contemporary practices, and visual literacy into classroom teaching.

2. Curriculum Development & Leadership

• Lead the planning and execution of the Art curriculum across middle and senior school.
• Design age-appropriate lesson plans, projects, and assessments.
• Ensure alignment with CBSE curriculum, school standards, and institutional needs.

3. Student Development & Assessment

• Identify and nurture artistic talent through competitions, exhibitions, and workshops.
• Maintain records of student progress, portfolios, and assessments.
• Provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.

4. Co-curricular & Enrichment Activities

• Organise art exhibitions, displays, assemblies, and inter-school competitions.
• Support school events, celebrations, and visual dcor.
• Encourage participation in external art platforms and certifications.

5. Classroom & Resource Management

• Maintain and manage art studios, materials, and equipment.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper use of art resources.
• Innovate with low-cost and sustainable art practices.

6. Professional Collaboration

• Work closely with subject teachers, coordinators, and school leadership.
• Participate in professional development programmes and training.
• Contribute to curriculum reviews and academic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Mandatory
• Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Mandatory
• B.Ed.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience in a reputed school.
• Proven experience in handling Art curriculum for Middle School.
• Experience in mentoring students for competitions and exhibitions will be an advantage.

• Knowledge of CBSE Art curriculum and assessment practices.
