Qualifications

• B.Ed.
• A post graduate in CHEMISTRY is a must.
• Evidence of recent and relevant continuing professional development

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' teaching experience with learners in Senior and Secondary Years.
• Successful experience of teaching CHEMISTRY.
• Experience of virtual teaching and knowledge of blended learning.
• Experience of being a class teacher.

Job Description

• Accountable for students' progress by being aware of their capabilities and planning the teaching to build on these.
• Demonstrate good subject knowledge of the relevant subject(s) and curriculum areas.
• Foster and maintain students' interest in the subject, and address doubts.
• Encourage students to take a responsible attitude to their own work and study.
• Promote high standards of literacy, articulacy, and the correct use of standard English.
• Promote a love of learning and encourage children's intellectual curiosity.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Set homework and plan other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding students have acquired.
• Make use of formative and summative assessments to secure students' progress.
• Give students regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking, and encourage students to respond to the feedback.
• Work with parents in the best interests of enabling students to fulfil their potential.
• Promote good and courteous behaviour both in classrooms and around the School in accordance with the School's Code of Conduct.
• Uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside School.
• Carry out professional duties as may be required by the Director, Head Teacher or the Wing Head.
