EY Consulting BCM Functional Testing Manager

The opportunity

As the Manager of Financial Clearing & Settlement Automation, you will oversee the testing and automation of processes within FICC, Equity Clearing, Wealth Management, and Treasury Clearing. Your role will be critical in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of our clearing and settlement operations. You will lead a team of specialists to design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks that support the various financial services provided by our firm.

• Manage and coordinate testing activities across FICC, Equity Clearing, Wealth Management, and Treasury Clearing operations, Capital Markets.
• Develop and implement automation strategies to streamline clearing and settlement processes.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of automated test suites and frameworks.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and integrate solutions.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards in all testing and automation practices.
• Lead the analysis and resolution of complex issues that arise during the clearing and settlement process.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of automated systems, proposing enhancements as needed.
• Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends in financial clearing and automation.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in financial markets.
• Facilitate understanding and implementation of quality processes according to organizational standards.
• Conduct training sessions for teams to ensure comprehension and implementation of established processes.
• Perform periodic audits to assess process adherence in both project implementation and product development/upgrade stages.
• Conduct release verifications to guarantee that all artifacts are created accurately and meet expected standards.
• Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and implement necessary changes for optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality assurance measures throughout the software development life cycle.
• Maintain and update process documentation to ensure alignment with best practices and industry standards.
• Act as a subject matter expert in quality processes, providing guidance and support to project teams as required.
• Should know the Defect Management using ALM/JIRA, Defect Triaging, Defect Status Reporting and Tracking
• Must have experience Budgeting and proposals.
• Should be able to drive Onsite – Offshore model.
• Should be able to report to stakeholders - Test Status, KPI Metrics and Dashboard Reporting
• Expertise in Stakeholder Managements, Risk Management, Conflict Management
• Good Client interfacing skills & should have involved in client interactions.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure proper delivery of the requirement.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in testing and automation to continuously improve the testing processes.

Academic and Work experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial services operations with a focus on clearing and settlement.
• Proven experience in managing testing and automation projects within a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of FICC, Equity Clearing, Wealth Management, and Treasury Clearing processes.
• Proficiency in automation tools and technologies, such as Selenium, QTP, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various levels of management and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications in automation testing (e.g., ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer) or financial services
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Should have excellent communication skills & should be able to articulate concisely & clearly
• Good experience in API automation, Functional Automation, SQL queries
• Should be ready to do an individual contributor as well as Team Manager role is what we look for
• Created QA Strategy and test approach from scratch, Articulates value, ROI to clients. Experience in conducting proof-of-concepts and Tool selection should have played the role of an individual contributor, interfacing with the clients and address their business needs
