Team Name: PVL - E&E Reliability, E Powertrain & Vehicle Attributes Testing(VAER)

About the Team and the Role:

The E&E Reliability, E Powertrain & Vehicle Attributes Testing team at Ather is responsible for the comprehensive performance and reliability validation of electric powertrains and vehicle-level attributes.

This role is for a Test Engineer - PRD who will focus on the creation and execution of test plans for Vehicle performance, range, and drivability, while developing advanced system-level setups to validate motors, controllers, and thermal systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform vehicle-level performance testing including acceleration, gradeability, top speed, regenerative braking efficiency, range validation, and drive mode performance under varied environmental conditions on the Vehicle Level Performance in Track Environment.

• Understanding on two wheeler Vehicle behaviour in terms of performance and being able to push the vehicle to its extreme limits to develop performance test measurement.

• Conduct standardized and real-world range tests (urban, highway, mixed cycles) and analyze Wh/km performance against targets.

• To Assess torque delivery, response time, efficiency mapping, thermal limits, and other impacts across operating conditions.

• Configure HV-safe data acquisition systems (CAN, BMS signals, inverter parameters, motor temperature, current flow) ensuring accurate performance capture.

• Conduct EV competitor performance benchmarking for acceleration, range efficiency, charging performance, and thermal robustness.

• Identify and raise bugs immediately, highlighting critical failures in the vehicle or powertrain systems.

• Manage a team of operators and oversee the proper usage, maintenance, and procurement of lab equipment and instruments.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelors/ Diploma in engineering in any specialization

• 3-6 years of experience in Vehicle Performance testing (Two Wheeler Industry Preferred)

Must have Competencies:

• Proven experience in Track Performance Testing

• Advanced proficiency in data analysis, instrumentation, and data acquisition for complex powertrain validation.

• Advanced skill in using flashing tools and MS Excel for technical data processing and firmware management.

• Expert ability in developing technical expertise and producing high-quality validation outputs for electric vehicle systems.

Good to have Competencies:

• Track certification

• Practical knowledge of Chassis Dyno operations and NI Signal Express for signal processing.

• Proficient in operating high-power equipment such as Battery Cyclers and Motor Dynos for system-level validation

• AuroCAD,NX, Solidworks for Fixture Development.
