Summary: As a API Test Automation Lead, you will play a pivotal role in transforming testing into a continuous, efficient, and high-quality engineering function. Leveraging quality processes, automation tools, and methodologies, you will enhance control, accuracy, and integrity across projects. A primary focus of your role will be on API testing using Rest Assured with Java, including REST and SOAP-based API testing to ensure comprehensive validation and reliability. You will also implement service virtualization and mocking techniques, using tools like WireMock to create robust and stable testing environments. Additionally, you will guide and support team members, fostering collaboration and high performance. In this role, you will create and maintain automation scripts, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver top-quality software products. Roles & Responsibilities: - Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in API testing, with a focus on REST and SOAP API testing using Rest Assured and Java. - Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for robust API validation, including the use of service virtualization and mocking tools such as WireMock. - Lead team discussions, mentor team members, and contribute to key team decisions. - Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage. - Integrate testing seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline using tools like Jenkins. - Drive Agile best practices within the team, continuously improving testing processes and methodologies. - Champion the adoption of innovative testing solutions, including cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, to support team objectives. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must-Have Skills: - API Automation Testing with Rest Assured and Java, covering both REST and SOAP-based APIs - Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS or Azure) - Familiarity with management tools such as Jira and Rally for effective task tracking - Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and collaborative teamwork - Version control expertise with tools like Git - Experience with service virtualization and mocking tools (e.g., WireMock) for creating stable test environments - Good-to-Have Skills: - UI Automation Testing using Selenium with Java - API Manual Testing using Postman - Experience in web testing methodologies and frameworks Additional Information: - Minimum 7.5 years of experience in API Testing. - This position is based in our Bengaluru office. - A full-time education of at least 15 years is required.
