Test Analyst (ETL Testing & SQL Expert – Individual Contributor)

We are looking for a highly experienced and hands-on Test Analyst with deep expertise in ETL testing, complex SQL queries , and end-to-end data validation . This is a critical individual contributor role focused on validating the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of data across all layers of the data pipeline from source to target in large-scale data migration and transformation projects.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate practical proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries , along with a strong understanding of ETL testing methodologies and frameworks .

• Design and implement comprehensive ETL test strategies and plans for data migration, transformation, and validation.
• Perform end-to-end testing across all layers of the data pipeline (source, staging, transformation logic, and target).
• Write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries for large-scale data validation and backend testing.
• Validate ETL workflows and data movement processes across different databases, file systems, and cloud environments.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and completeness by applying sound data quality and testing principles.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business analysts to understand requirements and troubleshoot data issues.
• Execute test cases, log defects, perform root cause analysis, and track resolution to closure.
• Generate and maintain detailed test documentation including test cases, defect logs, and traceability matrices.
• Participate in peer reviews of test artifacts and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience with ETL testing processes, frameworks, and tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, etc.).
• Must have deep expertise in writing complex SQL queries for large dataset validations.
• Proven experience in end-to-end testing for data migration projects , with ability to test across all layers.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data lakes, and data integration workflows.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, TestRail, etc.
• Experience with testing in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment.

• Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell, etc.) for test automation is a plus.
• Experience with API testing, integration testing, and automation frameworks.
• Exposure to CI/CD processes and tools like Git, Jenkins, etc.
• Good to have: Banking domain experience this will be considered an added advantage.

This is not a managerial role . We are looking for a technically strong, hands-on individual contributor who can independently design and execute test cases, write advanced SQL, and ensure data accuracy and quality in complex enterprise environments.
