About this role:

CIBT is structured into verticals and horizontal teams to Corporate & Investment Banking Technology needs across Wells Fargo. This role manages technology teams supporting and enabling various business functions such as Foreign Exchange, Rates, Liquid Products, Commodities sales, Risk( Market, counterparty etc.) and trading, middle office and operations across all these businesses.

All these teams are focused on significant in-house platform builds that will replace legacy vendor platforms accruing significant savings for the firm. We expect the candidate to play a significant role in leading the change. This role is expected to develop the teams further to engage with business directly to make an impact. Increasing the complexity work delivered from India and establishing accountability are key success factors.

Responsibilities also include creating a common structure, operating model and culture, vision and values that aligns to Wells Fargo Technology, This lead role requires establishing partnership with technology teams supporting businesses across the enterprise, especially in the foreign exchange businesses.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
  • Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
  • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
  • Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers
  • Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
  • Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the several capital markets and investment banking business practices and related applications and technologies supporting:
    • FX products (cash & derivatives) end to end trade lifecycle
    • FX channels and services (International Wires, FX drafts, banknotes, etc.)
    • Treasuries, Agencies, Swaps, Swaptions and Exotics sales and trading
    • Commodities trading in financials and physicals
    • Front-office functions such as: e-trading, market making, trade lifecycle, pricing & risk
    • Support functions such as: P&L reporting and attribution, position management, trade allocation, clearing and settlement
    • Good exposure in Prime and Risk
  • Knowledge of SEC, FINRA, Dodd Frank, Basel, Volcker, MIFID, FRTB, HKMA, and/or other industry regulations to build technological solutions.
  • Good understanding of object-oriented development, design patterns and optimized search algorithms.
  • Experience in Agile methodology and CI/CD tools such as Git, github actions, Harness, JIRA, and automated testing.
  • Apart from Capital Markets specific knowledge and skills listed above, relevant technology experience (e.g. Building large scale systems that support multiple time zones, Capacity planning and application sizing).
  • Deep understanding of cross asset classes, markets and portfolio optimization process.
  • Excellent first-hand experience building applications for at least one of the asset classes or business functions (e.g. Fixed Income, Equities, Risk Management, etc.)
  • Experience with market data feed/tools such as Reuters, Bloomberg, Markit and Factset.Clear demonstration of ability to manage a large technology team across multiple sites working for multiple LoB’s of an organization (preferably in financial services environment)
  • Must have good years of experience, of which at least 5 years in senior management roles leading large teams of teams and 10+ years in Capital Markets
  • Demonstrable success in creating effective technology teams in global business environments. Experience in an in-house center would be desirable.
  • Must have good understanding of current and future trends and practices in Technology.
  • Must be able to demonstrate true results in influencing business outcomes and must be an innovative leader.
  • A seasoned, relationship-driven leader who will have the style and sensitivity to work within a highly complex business environment.
  • Lead organizational initiatives, foster diversity and inclusion, and champion change within the group. Multi-cultural sensitivity a must.                                                          
  • Passion in promoting One Technology Culture and global / local balanced alignment.

Job Expectations:

  • Lead a technology team of 900+ members across multiple locations with direct responsibilities for business analysis and engineering teams and indirect responsibilities for application support teams.
  • Lead, design and develop technology solutions to complex problems that require both in depth knowledge of capital markets and strong technical expertise.
