About Gradient Cyber

Gradient Cyber is building a modern cybersecurity platform focused on detection, response, and platform intelligence. As our systems grow in complexity, we are looking for a Technical Writer who enjoys breaking down backend systems, workflows, and architecture into structured, reliable documentation.

This is not a marketing or content writing role.

We are looking for someone comfortable working with engineers, understanding APIs and system flows, and documenting how things actually work in production.

What Youll Do

You will own documentation across our security platform, including:

• Platform architecture diagrams and system overviews
• Alert lifecycle and detection workflows
• Data flow diagrams and integration documentation
• Internal runbooks and troubleshooting guides
• Documentation for platform components and services
• Knowledge base assets used by engineers and security analysts

You will work closely with engineering, detection, and platform teams to ensure documentation reflects real system behavior - including edge cases and failure scenarios.

What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)

• End-to-end platform architecture clearly documented
• Detection and alert workflows standardized and mapped
• Engineers and analysts rely on documentation daily
• Documentation practices and structure formalized

Required Qualifications

• 23 years in technical writing or system documentation roles
• Ability to understand and document complex backend systems
• Experience creating architecture and data flow diagrams
• Strong written and spoken English
• High attention to detail and structured thinking
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables

Preferred Experience

• Documentation in security, SaaS, or cloud platforms
• Familiarity with APIs (REST), JSON, system integrations
• Experience with tools such as Confluence, Notion, Markdown, Lucidchart, Draw.io, Miro, or similar
• Background working closely with engineering teams
