Technical Writer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, manuals, references, or instructions. This candidate should have strong communication skills which enable them to explain complicated concepts in a simple manner. This individual will also meet with customer representatives frequently in order to understand required content.

Responsibilities

• Gather information from team meetings, product specifications, interviews with subject-matter experts, and direct interaction with systems
• Create DITA XML-based documentation for early access and initial GA versions of the product
• Maintain and update product documentation as the product evolves
• Gather and address feedback from multiple sources
• Work independently and efficiently to meet tight deadlines

Qualifications

• Strong experience in creating DITA XML-based documentation
• Ability to comply with established style guidelines
• Excellent writing and grammar skills
• Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies
• BS or BA in technical/professional communication, English, computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience documenting software products
• Some exposure to UNIX/Linux, storage, virtualisation, and/or networking
• Familiarity with APIs
