Role Summary

The organization is seeking a highly experienced Technical Service Manager Color Solutions to support automotive OEM customers with advanced color management, formulation, and quality control systems . The role is responsible for ensuring first-pass color approval, production stability, and global color consistency at OEM paint shops.

This is a customer-facing technical leadership role , requiring deep expertise in automotive coatings, color science, and OEM paint shop operations.

Key Responsibilities

Color Solutions

• Lead implementation and sustainment of Color formulation and color management systems at OEM sites.
• Ensure compliance with OEM master color standards and internal quality benchmarks.
• Deliver first-time-right color results for new model launches, facelifts, and running production .

OEM Technical Support

• Provide advanced technical support for automotive basecoat and clearcoat systems .
• Resolve complex color issues related to shade variation, color travel, flop, brightness, and consistency .
• Support OEMs during trials, pilot runs, SOP, and ramp-up phases .

Color Measurement & Quality Control

• Oversee effective use of spectrophotometers and color measurement tools .
• Analyze multi-angle color data, Delta E values, and SPC trends to ensure color stability.
• Establish robust color control plans at customer locations.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Act as the technical interface between OEM customers, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Global Color teams .
• Lead root cause analysis and CAPA for color and process deviations.
• Participate in OEM technical reviews, audits, and escalation discussions.

Team Leadership

• Guide and develop Technical Service Engineers and Color Specialists .
• Conduct training on color science, and best practices .

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech (Chemical Engineering) or M.Sc. Chemistry

Experience

• 1015 years in automotive OEM coatings , technical service, or color management

Core Skills

• Strong knowledge of color science and effect pigments
• Hands-on experience with OPTIMA or equivalent advanced color systems
• Expertise in spectrophotometry, formulation software, and SPC tools
• Proven OEM customer-handling and problem-solving capability

Reporting & Travel

• Reporting to: Head Technical Service / OEM Support
• Travel: Regular visits to OEM plants in Pune and nearby regions
