About Rooftop App

Rooftop App is a creative marketplace where artists, makers, and experience creators sell directly to buyers. Think Amazon meets Airbnb, built for the creative world. We operate across three verticals: Paintings, Products, and Experiences. Our apps are live on both the Play Store and App Store, with real users and transactions happening daily. Rajasthan Studio (rajasthanstudio.com) is our subsidiary creative studio, operating on WordPress.

The Opportunity

We are going through a planned technical leadership transition and are looking for an experienced Technical Consultant or a Development Agency to step in, take ownership of our platform, and work closely with our existing in-house Flutter and Angular developers.

This is not a greenfield project the platform is live, documented, and has been built over 4 years. We need someone who can inherit it with confidence, stabilise it, and help us grow.

What You Will Do

• Own the technical health of the platform stability, performance, uptime
• Resolve bugs and outstanding issues across backend, frontend, and mobile
• Manage DevOps AWS infrastructure, deployments, cloud services
• Lead and coordinate our in-house Flutter and Angular developers day-to-day
• Enforce and champion Test Driven Development (TDD) across the codebase
• Review and improve existing PHP Yii2 backend and REST API architecture
• Oversee Python-based video processing and AI pipelines on AWS
• Manage the WordPress site for Rajasthan Studio (subsidiary)

What We Are Looking For

• Strong experience with PHP and the Yii2 framework this is non-negotiable
• Hands-on with AWS Managed Services deployments, infrastructure, monitoring
• Familiarity with Firebase, GCP, or Azure (we use all three for specific features)
• Solid understanding of RESTful API architecture connecting backend to mobile and web
• Experience working with or overseeing Flutter and Angular teams
• Comfortable managing GitHub repositories, branching strategies, and CI/CD
• Strong advocate of Test Driven Development (TDD) you write tests before code and expect the same from your team
• Experience with marketplace platforms is a strong plus
• Excellent communication you will coordinate directly with the CEO and the dev team

Engagement Details

• Type: Consulting engagement open to individual consultants or agencies
• Model: Flexible fractional (23 days/week) or fuller engagement depending on fit
• Location: Remote-friendly
• Start: As soon as the right person is found
