Team Member - Indirect Tax

Advisory, Litigation Management and Control

• On query being raised by all stakeholders, critically examination of provisions of GST law, VAT Law, CST Law, Central Excise Law, Service Tax, Custom, and to provide advise considering the business decision in most effective way.
• To study the tax practice prevailing in the market and act pro-actively and provide best suitable advice to stakeholders.
• To make representation to the respective Government body to avoid anomaly in the existing law.
• To up-date the business regarding changes takes place in the respective laws and to ensure that such changes are implemented in the true spirit of law.
• On receipt of any notices/ Audit Report/ Summons/ Letter/ Order from the respective Government authority, analysis the allegations stated therein and draft detailed reply thereon.
• Attend hearings at various stages before Statutory authorities for fruitful closure of matters or accompany the consultant wherever it is required.
• Constant monitoring effective utilization of GST ITC at group level

Tax Strategy on Merger & Acquisitions 

• Conducting the Due diligence for any acquisition, provide tax exposure to relevant stakeholders and end to end discussion with M&A team.
• Suggesting the efficient tax Strategy before making any external bid / tender

Governance of IDT Practice across the group

• Implement best IDT practice across the group after due deliberation with stakeholders
• Analyzing the current practice, find the deviations and suggest process improvements thereof.
• Ensuring that the advice / improvements suggested in process have been implemented and being regularly monitored.

Knowledge updation and skill development

• Preparation of the policies and procedures based on the Governance done and as may be found out in the normal course of working.
• Issue of periodical flyers to Biz. to make them aware of the recent changes takes place in the respective laws.
• Conduct webinars, seminars to update the knowledge of all stakeholders

Education Qualification:

CA or Inter CA or ICWA or LLB

Experience Required:

5 years with mid size company in area of indirect taxation.
