Team Leader

Location: Vashi, Navi Mumbai

Team: Single Source Depository (SSD) team is an integral part of the Planning team and is Sustainalytics’ document acquisition platform. SSD is positioned at the beginning of the Data value chain and ensures timely delivery of our client commitments by providing curated company documents for the downstream teams. SSD platform is widely used by colleagues from across the organization and is a crucial input to the workflow planning process itself.  

Role: The Team Lead manages curation and quality assurance (QA) activities for a team of up to 10 analysts conducting SSD research. The position will oversee the output and quality of the curation performed by the analyst team. The ideal candidate can thrive in a fast-paced dynamic technical environment, has strong communication skills, forms strong relationships with stakeholders, and proactively identifies and manages risks while improving the analyst team’s performance, and efficiency.  

Responsibilities:  

Manage People 

• Lead a team of analysts by providing clear direction, establishing SMART goals, and optimizing resource allocation. 

• Provides coaching and training to team members as appropriate and according to the specific needs of the business. 

• Conducts performance reviews of each team member and explains/sets career development paths and opportunities for team members. 

Manage Curation Output 

• Lead effective curation planning, analyze team performance, and produce monthly reports for Senior Managers. 

• Assist the team to identify and eliminating roadblocks by partnering with technology teams and other Data Research Teams. 

• Ensure timely delivery of SSD output, meeting data and quality requirements. 

Improve Business Processes 

• Partner with the Continuous Improvement team to optimize the curation process and to assess root causes of issues using LEAN Six Sigma tools and methodologies. 

• Assist the Associate Director/Senior Manager in identifying and eliminating roadblocks by partnering with the Data Research teams. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social science). 

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a research environment, with a focus in the company research/ESG space/climate. 

• Fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills. 

• Proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel; experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI/Tableau is considered an asset. 

• Prior experience leading teams of 5+ people will be a plus. 

• Strong analytical and entrepreneurial skills, problem-solving attitude, and quick decisiveness. 

• Meticulous attention to detail; good project management and execution skills. 

• Proven experience optimizing processes, affinity with text mining and/or exposure to artificial intelligence is an asset.
