Team Leader Commercial Sustainability

Our Commercial Sustainability Team works closely with top key client's customers of Maersk to develop value propositions centered around their sustainable agendas and targets. We specialize in proposing and implementing sustainable solutions, with a focus on creating emission visibility through our Emission Dashboard and facilitating the transition of fossil fuel shipments to low emission fuels among other sustainable value propositions. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our team of Commercial Sustainability Advisors & Senior Advisors and contribute to our mission of driving sustainability in the logistic industry.

Role Summary:

As a Commercial Sustainability Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in leading the team which is engaged in working with top global customers of Maersk to develop and implement sustainable propositions, with a specific focus on emission visibility and low emission fuels adoption. Your expertise in sustainability initiatives will enable our customers to achieve their sustainability goals while driving positive environmental impact. We enable our customers get closer to their pursuit of achieving Net Zero. The role is Commercial in nature.

Responsibilities:

1. People’s person:

- The applicant is expected to lead a team of Commercial Sustainability analysts and senior analysts.

- Comes with an owner's mindset to drive and lead the team on commercial pursuits.

- Self-motivated and optimistic.

- The role requires strong collaboration with team at Maersk’s Headquarters in Copenhagen.

2. Customer Relationship Management:

   - Cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with customers to understand their evolving sustainability needs and aspirations.

   - Act as the primary point of contact for sustainability-related inquiries and support for assigned clients.

  - Able to build & hold strong stakeholder relations, internally & externally.

3. Sustainability Positioning:

   - Promote awareness and understanding of sustainable practices & propositions towards customers and other internal and external stakeholders

   - Serve as the subject matter expert on emission reduction, low emission fuel adoption, and other sustainability-related topics.

4. Sustainable Solution Implementation:

   - Collaborate with customers to understand their sustainability objectives and challenges.

   - Propose, develop, and present innovative sustainable solutions tailored to the specific needs of each customer.

   - Create & build value propositions Address the carbon footprint of our customers by proposing adoption of low emission fuels for their logistics operations, among other products.

5. Low emissions fuels Conversion Strategy:

   - Advise customers on the benefits of adopting low emissions fuels to reduce their carbon footprint.

   - Carry customer research & liaise internal & external stakeholders to assess the feasibility of proposing low emissions fuel-based alternatives for our customers.

   - Coordinate with internal teams and external customer representatives to facilitate the seamless transition to low emissions fuels shipments.

6. Market Intelligence:

   - Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to sustainability and emission reduction in the shipping & logistics sector.

   - Analyze market data and competitor initiatives to identify new opportunities for sustainability-focused service offerings.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, Sustainability, Business, Logistics, or related fields. Advanced degrees are advantageous.

- Proven experience 7-10 years in a similar sustainability-focused role, preferably within the shipping or logistics industry.

- Strong team leadership skills, fostering high-performing and collaborative teams

- In-depth knowledge of sustainability practices, emission reduction strategies, and low emission fuels logistics.

- Familiarity with tracking and reporting carbon emissions.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess customer needs and propose tailored sustainable solutions.

- Passion for sustainability and making a positive impact on the environment and society.
