Job Title: Team Leader US Mortgage Underwriting (hiring for Captive Client)

Location: Pune (Work from Office)

Salary Budget: Up to 13,00,000 per annum

Experience: 69 years (Minimum 23 years as TL)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader US Mortgage Underwriting to manage and mentor a team of underwriters while ensuring high-quality loan decisions in compliance with US mortgage guidelines. The role requires strong leadership, deep underwriting expertise, and a client-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and mentor a team of US Mortgage Underwriters

Allocate files and ensure timely completion as per SLAs

Perform complex underwriting decisions for Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans

Ensure compliance with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and investor guidelines

Conduct quality checks, audits, and coaching sessions to improve accuracy

Handle escalations, resolve underwriting issues, and communicate with clients

Monitor productivity, TAT, and quality metrics for the team

Prepare MIS reports and present performance updates to management

Support process improvements and automation initiatives

Assist in training new joiners and upskilling existing team members

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong knowledge of US Mortgage End-to-End Underwriting

Hands-on experience with Income, Asset, Credit, and Collateral Analysis

Expertise in DU / LP findings interpretation

Knowledge of ATR/QM rules and compliance standards

Experience handling pre-close, post-close, and conditions clearance

Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

Exposure to client interaction and audit handling is mandatory

Educational Qualification

Graduate in any discipline (Finance/Commerce preferred)

Relevant US Mortgage certifications are an added advantage
