Key Responsibilities
Prepare Canadian and US personal income tax returns for expatriates, inbound assignees, and cross-border employees.
Assist with tax equalization calculations, hypothetical tax, and payroll reconciliations for globally mobile employees.
Research and analyze Canadian and international tax laws, treaties, and regulations impacting global mobility.
Respond to client and assignee inquiries regarding tax positions, filings, and compliance requirements.
Assist with the preparation of cost projections, assignment letters, and compensation summaries.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
4-6 years of experience in personal tax compliance, preferably with exposure to expatriate or cross-border tax matters
Knowledge of Canadian and US individual tax regulations and tax treaty provisions
Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Taxprep, CCH, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
