Position Summary

Tax Consultant-II Rewards and Valuations Specialist

Deloitte Tax Services India Private Limited (USI Tax) commenced operations in June 2004. Since then, nearly all the Deloitte Tax LLP (Deloitte Tax) U.S. service offerings have obtained support services through the USI Tax teams.  USI Tax offers you opportunities to learn and support U.S. and other countries (such as Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom) taxation practice, a popular career option.

We are leading its clients through the tax transformation taking place in the marketplace, offering a broad range of fully integrated tax services by combining technology and tax technical resources to comply with reporting requirements, uncover insights and deploy smarter approaches for navigating an increasingly complex global environment.

The Team

The Rewards and Valuations Specialist within UK Tax plays a critical role in advising clients on the design, implementation, and tax-efficient structuring of employee reward programs (including equity incentives, share plans, and executive compensation). This role combines technical expertise in UK tax legislation with advanced valuation skills to ensure compliance, optimize tax outcomes, and support business objectives.

Responsibilities include: -

1. Tax Advisory on Employee Rewards

  • Advise clients on UK tax implications of various reward structures (e.g., share plans, bonuses, LTIPs, EMI schemes).
  • Interpret and apply relevant UK tax legislation (Income Tax, NICs, Corporation Tax) to employee rewards.
  • Support clients with HMRC reporting requirements, including ERS returns and tax filings.

2. Valuation of Incentives and Share Plans

  • Perform valuations of equity-based compensation (e.g., options, RSUs, growth shares) for tax, accounting, and transaction purposes.
  • Prepare documentation and reports to support tax positions and HMRC submissions.
  • Liaise with external valuers and legal advisors as needed.

3. Design and Implementation Support

  • Assist in designing tax-efficient reward programs tailored to client needs and business strategy.
  • Model financial and tax outcomes for various incentive structures.
  • Advise on governance, compliance, and market best practices.

4. Client Relationship Management

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with HR, Tax, and Finance teams at client organizations.
  • Deliver clear, actionable advice and communicate complex tax/valuation concepts to non-specialists.
  • Support business development through proposal writing, presentations, and thought leadership.

5. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management

  • Monitor changes in UK tax law and HMRC guidance affecting employee rewards.
  • Ensure all advice and documentation are compliant with current regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to reward program implementation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Economics, or related field. ACA, CTA, ATT,
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of UK tax rules for employment income, share plans, and incentives; experience with valuations (Black-Scholes, Monte Carlo, etc.). Strong Excel and financial modeling; experience with compensation survey tools and HRIS systems; understanding of accounting and tax implications of rewards
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to model tax and financial outcomes; attention to detail in valuation and compliance work.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Client Focus: Experience in professional services or advisory environment; strong relationship-building skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in calculations, documentation, and compliance.

Work Location: Kolkata || Shift Timings: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM IST
